David Finkelstein of DDJ Marine LLC, owner of the former Pensacola Shipyard, announced that the property will now officially be known as Pensacola Marine Center. The re-branding is much more reflective of the allencompassing services now and soon to be offered on the historic marina on Bayou Chico.

"When I bought Pensacola Shipyard, it was not only for what it was at the time but because of a shared vision of what it could become," said Finkelstein. "Pensacola Marine Center is more than a new name and logo; it's a statement. We are the epicenter for Pensacola's marine industries and boaters."

Construction at the property has been almost non-stop since Finkelstein's acquisition. Luxury office space, known as The Hub' was built and leased, providing clients such as United Yacht Sales, Off The Hook Yacht Sales, and All Aspects Marine with easy access to boat slips, the boatyard, and customers.

Another addition recently completed is the Quonset Hut, featuring industrial-grade lighting. This space gives customers more working hours to complete projects during the daylight-shortened fall and winter days.

Currently under construction and near completion is 'The Barn Pensacola.' The Emerald Coast's largest and most innovative dry storage facility which can house 550 boats. The facility's new 80-ton forklifts can lift and store boats up to 50' in length, representing today's large center consoles.

The expansion at Pensacola Marine Center is not limited to just buildings. Finkelstein also announced that Bob Anderson has joined the company in the newly created Director of Operations and Sales position. The addition of Anderson adds nearly three decades of marine management experience to the Pensacola Marine Center team.

"Bob brings so much marine experience, but even more importantly, he brings a long history of customer relationships and friendships with him," said Finkelstein.

"I feel both humbled and very fortunate for this opportunity," said Anderson. "From the location of this huge facility, being centrally located for customers to both the east and the west, to the deepwater access, to our infrastructure, and the continued investment by ownership is not only exciting to me but also for so many clients I have worked with for so many years."

Scott Burt of Coastal Marina Management, which manages the property, said a nationwide search brought Pensacola Marine Center and Anderson together. "When we created this new position, there was tremendous interest from highly qualified individuals, but as solid as they were, no one could match Bob's experience and connections here on the Gulf Coast. The ideal candidate was right in our backyard."

Customers of Pensacola Marine Center can take advantage of either in-water or out-of-water service for their vessels by using the two 100n Ton Marine Travel Lifts with 220,000 lb. capacity or the 80 Ton Marine Transporter.

The full-service marina and boatyard provides fuel at Pensacola's finest marine diesel fuel dock, featuring floating docks for vessels up to 70 feet and a protected seawall that can accommodate vessels over 200 feet, all with 100amp power, video surveillance, and after-hours security.
